Futures vs Forex vs Crypto Prop Firms: Which Eval Fits You?
Costs, drawdown rules, hours and payouts compared across the three markets.
Last updated 6 Oct 2026How the three markets differ
Futures evals are mostly monthly subscriptions with a dollar drawdown and an activation fee when you pass. Forex & CFD evals are one-time fees, often refundable, with daily and max loss in percent. Crypto perps evals look like forex ones but trade 24/7 and usually pay out in stablecoins. The market you already trade matters more than the price: the eval whose rules fit your style is the one you pass.

Cost: headline price vs first month
A $49 monthly futures plan with a $149 activation fee costs $198 before your first payout. A $399 one-time forex eval with a refundable fee costs $399, but you get it back with the first payout. Compare first-month cost, not the headline.
Drawdown
Futures drawdowns are usually trailing in dollars, either end-of-day or intraday. Forex drawdowns are mostly static: a fixed level below your starting balance. Static gives you more room once you are in profit; trailing is unforgiving early on.
